A columnar peplum gown with boned organza integral corset to the strapless bodice. Ivory and black floating panel forming a cape which hooks onto the bodice front, with rope-twist neck band. Labelled Grès Paris and with défilé tape handwritten 105 Vicky, at.Jeannine, 11931. Excellent condition of color and conservation.
Alix Grès is famous since the 1940s for his genius of neo-classical drapery and pleated scholars. Her creations are always in appearance of great simplicity and linearity. They hide in fact a perfect technical mastery of the cut and drapes which we can appreciate the work on the back of her dresses.
