Dramatic long evening gown in pearl grey silk taffeta, in the form of a toga by Madame Grès Haute Couture (attributed to). Chasuble cut with very large bottom, crew neck slightly gathered in the middle, zipper in the back. Large balloon sleeves bubbled and mounted in organ pleats, starting from the shoulders and covering the entire back. Missing the label, no lining. Very nice stitching finish, with a few very discreet small rings (photos on request), no holes. Good condition in terms of colour and conservation. Size: One size equals 38-42 France. Shoulders 42 cm, chest 85-100 cm, waist 100 cm, height 148 cm, sleeve circumference 382 cm, dress circumference 364 cm.

Famous under the name Alix and then Madame Grès, she worked in the Faubourg Saint Honoré in Paris from 1935. From 1942 to 1988, she moved to 1, rue de la Paix under the name Grès. Her style is famous for its drapery and pure lines. The architecture of her creations, particularly her bustiers, is a benchmark in the world of Haute Couture.
