Pair of musketeer gloves in celadon green suede leather - France, dated 1898
Dated 1898
France
Beautiful and rare pair of musketeer gloves in celadon green suede and danat leather from the late 19th century. Size 33 printed in ink on the inside, along with the stamp of the Edmond R Lyon factory, contract dated 6 August 1898. Wide conical musketeer cuffs, lined with fawn leather for rigidity and topstitched; the assembly remains entirely handcrafted by a French manufacturer, probably for the English or American market. Relatively large for the period, this pair is suitable for a man with slender hands or a woman with normal-sized hands. Very slight period patina to note with four or five tiny rust spots. These gloves remain generally clean, durable and usable without any problems. Good overall condition.
Dimensions: Measured flat. Total length 31 cm. Musketeer cuff 20 cm x 11 cm. Hand: 21 cm x 10 cm.
