Printed silk coat by Jean Hercey - Paris Circa 1965
Circa 1965-1970
France
Printed silk lady's coat from the Jean Hercey fashion house, 98 rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, located next to the Palais de l'Elysée in Paris and dating from the 1960s. Interesting print on silk twill of yellow, white and black polka dots creating a visual checkerboard effect. Loose-fitting coat, collar with rabbet points and fastened at the front by four large matching buttons. Beautiful pintuck work, revealing two side slits for pockets and a large slit at the bottom of the back, giving a trench coat effect. The coat is fully lined in mustard yellow silk pongee and finished entirely by hand. There are no visible flaws in this coat, which has been beautifully primed. Little or no wear. Very good colour and condition.
Dimensions: French size 42-44. Height 111 cm, shoulders 43 cm, sleeves 55 cm, chest 96-99 cm, waist 89 cm, hips 104 cm.
