Dress and Cape in Calais Lace and Yellow Ostrich Feathers by Jacques Heim Haute Couture Circa 1965-1969

Magnificent evening gown and cape in yellow Guipure lace, model named Alizée by Jacques Heim Haute Couture. High-waisted sheath dress with large plunging neckline and back zip fastening. Whalebone bustier lined with white tulle and highlighted at the front by a braided bow and embroidered iridescent and translucent faceted beads. Plunging cape in the back, with kimono sleeves and trimmed with pale yellow ostrich feathers. Matching yellow organza lining for the cape and underskirt. Note the high quality of the lace with its baroque motifs, made in France in the Calais or Caudry style. Label indicating Jacques Heim Paris, Rio, Cannes Biarritz, Deauville. The dress is clean and flawless, apart from a few pulled threads. Very good colour and condition.

Dimensions: French size 37-38. Height 141 cm, chest 90-95 cm, waist 68-71 cm, hips 91-95 cm, skirt height 105 cm. Cape height 69 cm, side 78 cm.

Jacques Heim (8 May 1899 - 8 January 1967) was a French fashion designer and costume designer for theatre and film between 1930 and 1967. He designed dresses and coats in original fabrics in collaboration with Sonia Delaunay, and was one of the pioneers of ready-to-wear with his Heim Jeunes Filles line launched in 1936, and in 1950 Heim Actualité, a two-piece swimming costume consisting of a ruffled bra and pretty bloomers, which he called the Atom.
