Little black dress or Couture cocktail dress in wild silk fabric by Christian Dior, directed by Marc Bohan. Sleeveless sheath dress with a high Mao-style collar. It is treated asymmetrically, with the fabric on the bias and the zip fastening in line with the right shoulder in the back. Complex, asymmetrical cut with black taffeta under-dress, zipped from the inside and expertly fastened with press studs on the back of the collar. Inner waist belt in black elastic and green catwalk bolduc showing the number 154 at the Hôtel Georges V in 1966, concealed in the slit at the bottom of the dress. The level of construction of this dress and the couture finishes are worthy of the world's greatest haute couture house. Labelled Christian Dior Paris Printemps Eté 1966 numbered 130259. Flawless dress. Very good colour and condition.

Artistic Director of Jean Patou from 1954 to 1957, Marc Bohan joined Christian Dior in 1957, where he oversaw designs in London and New York. When Yves Saint Laurent left, Marc Bohan was appointed Artistic Director of the famous House in 1961. He held the record for the longest tenure at Dior, not relinquishing his position to Gianfranco Ferré until 1989. He kept the famous house at a very high level of prestige.
