An Emilio Pucci printed velvet little dress - Italy Circa 1970-1975

Iconic little dress in printed velvet from the famous Emilio Pucci fashion house in Florence, dating from the 1970s. Fitted cut, oval neckline, short sleeves, zip at the back and pleated skirt for ease of movement. Cotton velvet print with a “Bijoux” design in shades of apple green, fuchsia, turquoise, yellow and purple, giving the impression of a joyful firework display! The Emilio signature is repeated in several places on the dress. Fully lined with white nylon (snag on the lining at the bottom of the skirt) and white label with blue lettering indicating Emilio Pucci Florence - Italy Made in Italy 100% Pure Cotton. Note a few tiny and rare rust spots (see the last three photos), the only flaw to report. Good overall condition in terms of color and preservation.

Dimensions: Equivalent to size 36/37 France. Shoulders 15.5 inches Sleeves 96 inches Chest 33-35 inches Waist 28.5 inches Hips 39.5 inches.

Nicknamed “the prince of prints,” Emilio Pucci (1914-1992) made his mark on fashion history with his pop prints, flashy colors, and graphic patterns that inspired 1960s fashion. His style is characterized by flashy, colorful prints combined with stretch fabric. His glamorous and feminine outfits in bright colors and psychedelic patterns are graphic and very cheerful.
