Cocktail dress in iridescent taffeta flocked with velvet - France Circa 1960
Circa 1960
France
Beautiful cocktail dress in iridescent blue and pink taffeta, flocked with black velvet flowers in a Baroque style, dating from the early 1960s. The taffeta with purple highlights is artificial. Dressmaker's dress with a fitted bodice, wide collar with folded points, three-quarter length buttoned sleeves, and a large button under the bust. The skirt is pleated and lined with unbleached cotton tarlatan, giving it a beautiful puff! Zip on one side and matching buckle belt to cinch the waist (small damage to the silver vinyl lining of the belt). There is a very faint mark at the bottom of the skirt (see last photo), the only flaw to note, the flocked velvet taffeta has retained its original finish and stiffness. No holes. Good overall condition in terms of colour and preservation. Dress can be worn.
Dimensions: Equivalent to UK size 10-12. Length 105 cm, shoulders 40 cm, bust 90 cm, waist 75 cm, sleeves 45 cm, hips 100 cm.
