Long evening dress in black silk crepe densely embroidered with tubular beads by Juliette Suzanne Talbot haute Couture dating from the 1930s. Straight cut, V-neck with plunging effect at the back, balloon sleeves with openwork tabs at the shoulders. No underdress and label in the skirt indicating J Suzanne Talbot, 14 rue Royale Paris. A few missing pearls and a slight period patina. No major flaws. Good condition of colour and conservation.

Dimensions: Equivalent size 36 France. Height 143 cm, shoulders 39 cm, bust 86 cm, waist 72 cm, sleeves 26 cm, hips 90 cm.

Juliette Suzanne Talbot (1879-1969) was one of the most original figures in Parisian Haute Couture and the artistic avant-garde between the wars. Her house, founded in 1917, was located at 14 Rue Royale in Paris. She created surprisingly modern designs using the geometric shapes of Art Deco. Her company closed in 1957.
