Rare Carré Hermès or Scarf "Paris Modistel" by Hugo Grygkar Circa 1956
Circa 1956
France
Rare Carré Hermès or scarf entitled "Paris Modistel" signed Hugo Grygkar in 1956 in shades of pink, sky blue, anise green, yellow, taupe, gray, purple. Renamed later "Paris Modiste" at its 2nd edition in 2006. The essential difference between the two models lies in the fact that the reissue has no margin. Printed fluid silk serge with a cream background and hand-topstitched edges. Patterns representing the hats that carried the coquettes of the time, going out of their box. Label Hermès in the bottom right, indicating Hermès Paris. Note a small halo and four tiny yellow spots of the size of a pinhead on the gray border, otherwise the rest is very clean, no other traces of use. Good condition of color and conservation.
Rating mentioned Very Rare and Sought-after on "Carré d'art d'Hermès" by Geneviève Fontan at ARFON 2017 on page 50.
