Evening dress and bolero in black silk velvet painted with floral bouquets dating from the beginning of the Second World War. Sheath dress, cut on the bias and with a large halter neckline held in place by wide straps, appliquéd with painted velvet patches. The dress is flared at the bottom, accentuating the grace of the step. On one side, there is a slit opening with press studs, making it easier to put on. The bolero has a wide collar that hugs the shoulders, with a tipped line at the back thanks to large ruffled basques. It has a front neckline fastened with a large matching button and short puffed sleeves. The bodice is lined in black duchesse satin with no label. I can't hide the fact that this ensemble is rare and unusual, a museum piece, possibly wearable for a very slim young woman. No flaws to report. Beautiful condition in terms of colour and conservation.
