A Gabrielle Chanel Haute Couture Woollen and golden lamé skirt suit named Hortensia Circa 1968 -1970
Circa 1960-1970
France
Beautiful wool and pink and gold lamé skirt and blouse suit attributed to Gabrielle Chanel Haute Couture Circa 1960/1970. Named Hortensia with Lurex silk from Bucil Manufacture (see last picture). Jacket and skirt in wool mohair with black buckles, complete with its brass buttons engraved with a lion's head. Straight skirt with double zips in the back. Black silk pongee lining and brass chain appliqué to plump up the jacket. Sleeveless crew neck blouse with eight buttons covered in a superb gold lamé design in pale pink and pink striped and mottled silk (one button missing at the waist). The lamé is repeated on the collar of the jacket and on the facing of the four pockets and the cuffs. No label (as is often the case) but obvious stitching finish allowing the attribution to the House of Chanel. Note a small tear on one sleeve of the jacket on 0.5 cm not very visible, otherwise good structural condition of the whole which does not include other defects.
