Circa 1970-1980
India
Khadi & Village Industries in India - A kurta made of unbleached silk fabric, known as wild silk in English, collected in India during the 1980s. Loose and straight cut, long sleeves, slits on the sides and opening at the front of the chest. ‘Khadi silk’ is a hand-woven silk, undyed, naturally unbleached or eggshell in colour, with the imperfections of hand weaving, which are very appealing here. Beautifully crafted slit pockets on the sides. No flaws, except for missing buttons and tiny micro-tears, no holes or stains. In good condition.
Dimensions: Equivalent to size 40-42 in France. Shoulders 49 cm, chest 116 cm, waist 117 cm, sleeves 59 cm, hips 126 cm, height 97 cm.
