In the style of Cristobal Balenciaga, an American peplum dress with a peacock tail train, american labelled By Peer, size 8 and dating from the 1960s. This model is possibly based on a Balenciaga pattern sold in the United States. The fabric is a shimmering brocade, with a cream satin background brocaded with pink silk and gold lurex. The large-scale pattern features bouquets of pink flowers with gold-lamé leaves. This famous Balenciaga design was produced from 1958 until 1967, when it was immortalised by the renowned photographer Cecil Beaton. Pink silk satin lining (small discreet stains on the train), zip fastening at the back. Two or three tiny marks on the brocade, really difficult to see, the only flaws to report, no holes or stains. Good overall condition in terms of colour and preservation. To wear or collect.
