Jeanne Lanvin Haute Couture Robe de Style numbered 88072 (?) from the Autumn Winter 1924-1925 collection. Long dress with large décolleté on a curved bustier, sleeveless and thin straps in peach velvet . A skilful embroidery of pearly pearls, rhinestone cabochons and tubular glass beads, mounted on cream tulle, adorns the front, neckline and bottom of the skirt with a slit effect. A large embroidered braided bow emphasises the low waistline in the famous Jeanne Lanvin style. Skirt with fine side pleats allowing the use of pads, in a nod to eighteenth-century basket dresses. No lining and woven label indicating Jeanne Lanvin Paris Unis France - Winter 1924-1925. On the back handwritten number 88072 and the first name Alix. Several pearls missing, a micro stain on the bustier and some areas of colour migration in the embroidery. Otherwise the velvet is stable and without holes. Stable condition considering its age.
