Beautiful three-piece set of a large evening pyjama in black satin embroidered white in China (Canton?) For fashion in the West around 1930.
Sleeveless blouse, kimono jacket and pants in black Duchess satin densely embroidered with Chinese allegorical scenes and highlighted with champagne satin piping. Heart pocket applied to the V-neck blouse. High-waisted pyjama pants with side panels with tabs adorned with buttons decorated with effect of pleats in champagne satin. No flaw. Very good condition of color and conservation.
The fashion for evening pyjamas for the reception, or for the outdoors, corresponds to the emancipation of the women’s wardrobe in the twentieth century. t illustrates the power taken by women through a very glamorous comfort, highlighted by Haute Couture, including Coco Chanel.
