A Kaftan or Coat in Placed Wool - Turkmenistan Circa 1950
Coat or Kaftan in green wool felt from Istanbul and from Turkmenistan in the years 1950/1960. Kaftan cut with three quarter sleeves and split on both sides. Very nice work of ethnic motifs in red placed wool. Edge of the coat and wrists in the application of striped silk, black velvet and trimmings in red silk. Blue and brown silk lining with sleeves and interior pockets in floral print cotton. Possibility to wear kaftan upside down for a more Ethnic Chic look. The stylishness is astonishing and reminds us Sergey Diaghilev's Russian Ballets and notably Stravinsky's Ballet "Le Sacre du Printemps". Two stains and a tiny hole on the back of the kaftan (Really very little visible) otherwise clean and very good condition of color and conservation.
