Printed tulle dress by Nina Ricci Haute Couture by Brossin de Méré - Paris Circa 1956
Circa 1956
France
A summer evening dress by Nina Ricci Haute Couture under the direction of Madame Brossin de Méré dating from 1955-1957. Sleeveless dress with a small bare back held in place by straps. Skilful cut with large tulle bouillonnés treated asymmetrically, starting from the hips in pointy-tipped godets, giving a mini-traine effect. Printing in blue, grey and soft green of large blurred flowers on cream tulle with an Impressionist effect. Back of dress in slate blue silk pongee with inner plumbs for a beautiful fit. At the bottom, four layers of purple tulle create a skirted effect! Side zip at the back. Yellow fashioned silk label indicating Nina Ricci Paris. Very few small needle holes in the tulle, a few micro-punctures and a repair (see last photo) which do not call into question the stable condition of this dress. No stains or holes. Good overall condition.
Dimensions: Equivalent to size 34-35 France. Front height 110 cm, back height 125 cm, shoulders 35 cm, chest 80 cm, waist 66 cm, hips 86 cm.
