An Hermès square scarf ‘Le Timbalier’ by Françoise Héron - Paris Circa 1961
Circa 1961
France
Rare Hermès silk scarf entitled ‘Le Timbalier’ by Françoise Héron, probably in its first edition in 1961. This pattern was then reissued in 2001. Silk scarf printed with hand-rolled edges in shades of pink, cream, yellow, yellow-green and bronze khaki. The pattern depicts a man on plumed horseback in 17th-century France. He is a Timbalier who played the timbales for royal celebrations. Hermès Paris is indicated in the left corner. No major flaws, holes or stains, only four or five very slight and barely visible tiny marks (see last photos). Good overall condition in terms of colour and preservation.
Dimensions: approximately 86 cm x 89 cm
Rated as Quite Rare and Sought After in Geneviève Fontan's Hermès art book at ARFON 2017 on page 220.
