Flapper Dress in Veil Embroidered with Spangles and Sequins - France Circa 1925
Astonishing flapper ballgown in powder pink cotton veil embroidered with spangles, pearls and sequins dating from the Art Deco Period around 1925. Tubular silhouette with small sleeveless neckline and with seam delimiting the hips. Spectacular knotted braid effect in trompe l'oeil at the neckline and undulating on the bottom of the skirt. Embroidery on the bottom in vermiculé with translucent glass beads giving a sanded effect. Gold and silver effect for the trompe l'oeil in embroidery of silver tubular sequins and gold and silver metallic spangles. The trompe l'oeil knots or braids were honored in France by Jean Patou and Coco Chanel in particular. No under-dress which probably included a Parisian couturier label. No defects, excellent resistance of the embroidered cotton veil. Excellent condition of color and conservation.
