An Anonymous Haute Couture Dress Circa 1930/1940
An Anonymous Haute Couture shawl and dress in silk crepe printed with fruit in shades of pink, orange and brown dating from the years 1930/1940. Tubular sleeveless cut typical of the 1930s with a bias work in the ruffles of the skirt. Amazing and clever work of pleats in gradations at the level of the bust and flaring on the low waist. Finely pleated scarf that follows the collar and shoulders. No label but definitely French Haute Couture work. Dress sewn entirely by hand without opening, staple or zipper on the sides as is often the case in the Couture of the 1930s. No underwear but the superposition of the muslin makes opaque. A tiny orange halo on the front very difficult to notice, otherwise very good condition of color and conservation.
