Suede leather bag in the Egyptomania style that emerged after the discovery of Tutankhamun in Egypt in 1922. This unprecedented movement made Egypt fashionable in the 1920s in several areas of decorative arts, including fashion. Bag with small handle, strap and three gusseted compartments, one of which has a zip. Interior mirror for make-up and large flap closed with a press stud. Beautiful engraving on dark brown dyed leather, featuring pharaohs, goddesses and flowered basins on both sides of the bag. The edges are perforated and laced with matching softer leather. No major flaws apart from tiny scratches and small marks that are very difficult to see. The edges are not chipped. Very slight patina from age. Good overall condition. Rare item.
