Yves Saint Laurent has always acknowledged Morocco’s influence on his own designs. The richness of this country revealed itself to him. He mastered the art of incorporating the djellaba and the burnous... to create silhouettes uniquely his own. .. “Yves Saint Laurent’s tribute to the people of this country, to the sky of Marrakech, to its colors and its light,” to quote Pierre Bergé on the occasion of the exhibition “Yves Saint Laurent and Morocco,” presented from November 27, 2010, to March 18, 2011, at the Majorelle Garden in Marrakech.
