Magnificent Haute Couture cape by Madame Grès dating from the 1980s. Impressive circumference of the cape (996 cm), cut on the bias from thick wool twill cloth dyed in gradations of wine-red, burgundy and plum. It has a small Mao collar fastened with a hook and two slits at the shoulders to allow the arms to pass through. There is no lining, so you can see the bias binding and the label Grès, 1 rue de la Paix Paris with a customs seal. A handwritten bolduc numbered 11633, bears the words 138 bis Alice att Melle Lucienne (name of the model and probably the first of the workshop). To note some light traces of iron, only defect to note. Clean and without holes or stains. Good condition of colour and conservation.

Dimensions: One size fits all. Shoulders 54 cm (slit to slit), height 143 cm, circumference of the cape 996 cm !
