Extravagant défilé dress from the Jean-Louis Scherrer designer house by Stéphane Rolland in black jersey from the Spring-Summer 2001 collection. Knee-length sheath dress with long trains projected towards the back. Big halterneck plunging to the top of the buttocks. Extravagant rigid tabs starting from the bustier to the shoulders and marrying feminine forms up to the hips. Rich embroidery of Swarowski rhinestones, turquoise beads with a coral pearl inlay on the left shoulder. No label but hand-written défilé bolduc indicating Scherrer P.E. 2001, look No. 18. Excellent condition of color and conservation.
Stéphane Rolland becomes artistic director of the Jean-Louis Scherrer house in 1997 and is then the youngest of the 20 couturiers in the world. He will open his own house 10 years later and define his own rules by bringing his vision of a new concept of luxury more dynamic and exclusive. Stéphane Rolland is best known for his bright red, white, or black evening dresses with shiny sets, drapes, long sheath dresses, and large low-cut neckline.
